Welcome to a modernist nightmare where the 60's meet 1984. Early on it's just as ambiguous Hail Caesar, Wheatley is happy to let you sink in early ambiguity, before he turns up with a lifeboat during the midsection.

Ostentatious in its Alice in Wonderland exploration of surrealism and the human mind. the combination of unhinged personalities, wacky events and rich set production will immerse you you in the rabbit hole, even managing to make ABBA's SOS sound totally eerie, while finding time to critique classism.

There's so much good stuff here, Tom Hiddleston (in his audition for 007) more affecting than in Avengers or Crimson Peak. It's only that there's scores of nudity. And that the building looks as if it was taken from Dredd.
